As I got ready to take photos of Joe and Lara‘s son, Drake Finn, I was thinking why so many people take pictures of babies in things like buckets and barrels.

It’s kind of odd, when you think about it, and it’s hard to imagine what someone from a different part of the world might think about us if all they knew about our culture was that we put our babies in watering cans.

But when I got to Lara’s house and saw the insanely cute pea-pod outfit she’d bought for him on Etsy, it became very clear why we put babies in bowls: because it’s adorable!
